MLO 6
The student demonstrates an ability to use technology in support of his or her scholarly work, including gathering, organizing and analyzing sources and employing appropriate delivery techniques in both written and oral formats.
MLO 6 will be completed along with the Capstone project and presentation. During the completion of the capstone project I had to implement many of my technological resources including, using library websites to help me complete my research, creation of a lengthy power point presentation to visually display the research that I conducted. All of the research that I conducted started out as an internet search, looking for books that represent my topic, or news paper articles in archives from long ago as far back as 1939. research methods that I used were not limited only to my internet browser, but other resources that i used were worldcat, a program in the library that allows me to find books from other libraries around the world. this allowed me to extend my reach outside my own library which had very limited information on my topic. Purdue Owl greatly assisted me in the MLA formatting of various parts of my project.
speed typing has been a long time hobby of mine, as seen above in the banner. speed typing may not sound like a critical skill to information technology literacy, but it added to the ease of writing and how much work i could get done in a day. Many people are limited by their typing speed, unable to generate vast amounts of material within a days work. their minds move faster than their fingers do. In my own opinion, typing speed is a critical part of information technology, with it I am able to let my mind work at full speed and clarity and very little is lost in the transition from my mind to the computer. My typing ability helped me immensely in this project form being able to conduct research faster to meeting deadlines with little issue.
MLO 6 will be completed with the completion of the capstone project, and will be shown through the research that I conducted using the resources available to me, such as Worldcat, an internet browser, Power point, Prezi, and various other mediums that have allowed me to complete this daunting task.
